Your First Visit
What to know before your pet’s first daycare visit or boarding stay. From packing to check-in, here’s how to prepare for an easier arrival at Canine Country.
Before You Arrive
Reservations are required for boarding and daycare. Request your visit online, or contact us if you’re unsure which service to choose. Daycare availability may be limited during busy travel periods and holidays, so please plan ahead.
Dogs need current rabies, distemper and bordetella vaccinations.
Cats need current rabies and feline distemper vaccinations. Please have vaccination records on file or ready to provide at check-in.
Tell us about health conditions, medications, anxiety or handling concerns before arrival. If your pet needs extra support, contact our team before booking so we can discuss whether our setting is the right fit.

What to bring
What to Leave at Home
We’ll review feeding details with you at check-in. Written feeding instructions are only needed if your dog’s routine is unusual. If you’re unsure what to pack, contact us before your visit.
What a first stay is like
New dogs are watched closely while we learn what helps them settle. Meals, rest, outdoor time and activities depend on the dog, the service selected and their care needs, not a one-size-fits-all routine.
Boarding dogs have indoor/outdoor run access during the day, weather permitting, and are tucked in at night by onsite staff.
Group introductions depend on temperament, comfort level, play style and compatibility. Some dogs enjoy group play; others do better with more space, quieter handling or a different pace. Talk with us before booking about the available options for your dog.
Medication, Health, and Safety
Please tell us about your pet’s health and handling needs before arrival, including anything that has changed since your last visit.
Bringing a Cat?
Cats stay in their own quiet area, separate from the dogs. Their vaccination requirements are listed under Before You Arrive above.
